My friend has been at Adobe 2 years now as a software engineer, hired as new grad. He makes just barely over 100k and no compensation in stock. I also had an offer around the same time, but mine was for 135k base and 55k RSU. Even that seemed super low (especially compared to fb offer). What is up with comp at Adobe? Seems like my friend is getting screwed.
Adobe isn’t FNG.
How come people reply without even understanding the post and they are at Google and Apple. What happened to your comprehension ability?
So far 4 people have replied and from their replies it is clear that none of them even understood the post. How the fuck did you guys clear your interviews at Google, Apple, FB, MS?
It's less that Adobe undercompensates and more that FANG TC is just crazy Also Adobe has a real sweet WLB
Being offered 100k+ salary as a new grad and thinking they are getting screwed can only happen on Blind Let’s wait until the next recession - people here will know the real meaning of getting screwed. I don’t want it to happen but it will happen.
Is it weird though that I was offered RSUs and after two years he still hasn't been given any stock? Why the huge discrepancy?
Adobe is basically cheap af and doesn't pay market rate or reward high performers. The whole "it's not fb" argument breaks up when you consider that companies like atlassian, PayPal, and Microsoft still pay more
For such a big company it is surprising that there isn't more structure regarding levels and pay.
Pretty much nothing is standardized here tbh
I agree that’s it’s a total cluster f*ck of pays, titles and compensation. It blows my mind that they don’t even have a defined expectation for each level. That being said, for 4yoe I get paid $220k as SWE 3 which I think is competitive
There is some set of standardization in hiring policies and comp level but they are more like guidelines not some strict policy to adhere. . Each vp/ director can hire in engg fields as he sees fit and can override it That results into skewed titles and compensation and from an outsider looking in it looks haphazard.

By this logic, the guy working at McDonald's makings 10 an hour is really screwed.
