Person on HN admits to automatically giving “stellar feedback” for other black candidates he interviews. Uses his round to coach the candidate for later rounds instead of conducting an actual interview. https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=21045067
Im not mad at that.
You aren't mad about someone being given advantages and disadvantages because of their race?
🍿 🥤 🍸 let the comments begin
he’s trolling since how does coaching help at that point
Pretty sure that person is trolling since it’s clearly unethical.
🤘🤘🤘 Curious about the success rate of the candidates in question.
They learned to do it so you should too ...
That’s actually a great idea. I have an interview scheduled with a black candidate this week. I’ll make my interview casual and if I know the other interviewers, I’ll share with the candidate those interviewers’ favorite questions. It’ll be like a friendly prep session with automatic SH.
How do you know there black?
+1 I support this. gets boring working with the same few races, do anything for some diverse teams.

Unconscious bias does exist. I have heard folks saying they don't want women in their team. So everything in life is not fair.
Of course, it happens all the time, but doesn't mean you should accept it when you see it. You call it out and strive for change. Complacency is the same as acceptance.
Did I say I accept it? Unconscious bias should be identified by folks who do it and fix it. When you are in a interview panel you cannot control other interviewers decision.
Diversity is needed acc to blind :p. Also, what is the diversity at Airbnb? Airbnb has a bad reputation too.
Yes - in Airbnb Chinese train others :) its basically an open book
