Hey, if you would need to choose one of those areas for an extended family ( of 5). With plans buying house, settle down, raise kids. What would you choose and please comment why? The family is somewhat outdoorsy, requires an access to activities for kids, good schools etc. Pros/cons on climate, culture please? Even jobs not an issue for now. Would be nice to have an insight on high tech jobs market situation
The Denver job market is very strong. You got the big players like Amazon, Google, Facebook, Twitter, and Microsoft, some smaller ones like SendGrid, Splunk, as well as a vibrant startup scene. Colorado is a beautiful state, and the access to nature is amazing. Politics are very left-leaning, so know if that suits you.
Thank you. A bigger variety of jobs is definitely a big plus. Yes, Colorado is beautiful. No access to the ocean though. Does it have any big lakes?
Live in RTP myself and considering Boulder. COL is about 10% higher in Boulder from my calculations, but, may be worth it for the beauty of the area.
Indeed.com shows 346 job posts for java developer search in Raleigh and 503 posts for the same in Denver So, definitely more jobs in Denver What is TC can be for both areas? Any insiders?
People voting but not commenting. Can you guys comment why did you choose one over another?
Is that true there a problem with radiation in Denver? Where is it comes from and how basis it?
You are exposed to more radiation by having a mile less atmosphere than at sea level. Not really a concern when you look at average lifespan, which Colorado wins at.
Any updates here? I’m thinking the same move in a few years.
Is the vote still consistent with previous round ?

They’re both amazing places. Personally I’d choose the Raleigh area. Great schools in Cary, very affordable, beach and mountains are pretty close by, and really good community overall. Denver probably has a better job market though
Have you lived both places? How public schools in the good areas around Denver? I heard city of Carry( because it’s develops and building very fast) often reconsider school districts. Which bring sometimes problems?
