I am posting in this group to preserve my identity since I am presently working for a company that isn’t very well known in the US. I received an offer from Rally Health for a senior software engineer position at San Francisco with the details as follows: Base: 160k United Heath group Rsu: 25k/4 United health group Options: 25k/4 Signing bonus: 10k Bonus: 8% target Yearly refresher: Around 23.5k split 50-50 between rsu and options My current tc is 123k and I have 5 yoe after master’s in USA (CS). I have no other offers and this is the max they can give me as communicated by the hr. Do you think it’s a fair offer and should I take it? I am very unhappy at my present job because of low pay and boring work. I would be really grateful if you can evaluate this offer. Thanks!
I would like more information about this. Can I negotiate for more?
didnt u say u cant negotiate?
I mean what can I do to get more? I don’t have any other offers for leverage. Any tips?
ask for details about the role, then say the responsibilities are higher than what they told you at the beginning and ask for a bit more
The role details never changed during the course of the interviews. So that won’t fly with them. What do you reckon?
You could ask for a better signing bonus, and maybe ask for some more stock if you really felt like negotiating. That seems like on-par for Rally though.
Thanks a lot for replying with your analysis. Isn’t 25k rsu and 25k nso very low over 4 years? There doesn’t seem to be much upside for sticking around long. What do you think? I really regret not having another offer to drive up the offer. But if I do end up taking it, I want to be sure that I am on par with other senior engineers in the company in terms of tc.
This is a good non-FANG salary!! Congratulations!!
Did u join rally?
I got the same offer with 80k bonus split between rsu and options
Whats the difference between United Heath group Rsu: 25k/4 United health group Options: 25k/4 ?? Are you getting 50,000 shares over 4 years ? Trying to understand how people communicate in blind (newbie to Blind)
I think he means 50000 shares over 4 years. Out of that, 25k are rsus and 25k are nso's. Uhg stock.

Thanks for your reply. Is it a low offer as compared to companies like ebay, Cisco, PayPal etc (tier 2 or 3) companies? I just want to be paid the median salary for now to get myself to a better place than where I currently am.
it’s around the median base salary
