I got offer in a series B startup in bay area. Base 210k, annual bonus 10-15%, 1.1 million equity for valuation 4 billion. How do you guys rate this offer ? YOE is 12
Series B with valuation 4 billion?!
Equity should be valued for what itโs worth: $0. Here is a common outcome for a typical Silicon Valley startup: https://www.google.com/amp/s/mashable.com/article/amazon-eero-wifi-router-sale.amp However you donโt hear about these type of stories cause the media only wants to report about the lucky bazillionaires that came out of unicorn startups like Uber. However 90% of startups fail and no one likes to brag about being an early employee at a failed startup and failing to get rich.
Base+Bonus is what you really get for next couple years. Rest is just paper money
I assume they mean the equity is estimated to be worth 1.1m if the company hits 4B valuation. It's probably worth nothing right now at series B
If you like the work, you think it can succeed, and you don't need too much personal time then jump in.

Series B and 4 billion in valuation? You sure bro? Do you mind sharing the name of the company
I don't think he means that the startup is valued at $4b. I think what he means is that the option will be worth 1.1m at that valuation.
External known valuation says 1 billion. Internal ones says 4 billion. That's what recruiter told me
