I've had a string of onsite interviews but haven't been able to get through any of them. However I finally had an interview where I felt I did very well but the recruiter just told me that they've decided to move forward with more "competetive applicants" for now. This obviously was very disappointing for me as I had my hopes high for this one. My question is, is it okay to reach out to the manager on linkedIn to get some general feedback on the interview and try and figure out what could've been better? I emailed the recruiter the same thing, but haven't heard back. The recruiter didn't have the courtesy to call and inform me about the rejection so I'm not very hopeful that he will have more information for me. TC: 4yrs 120K (this is the reason I'm looking to move) Update: Nvm. Turns out I need LinkedIn Premium Business to reach out to him.
I did this once but the interviewer told me he’s not allowed to share feedback. But doesn’t hurt to give it a try. Hope you land your dream job soon :)
Generally feedback isn’t provided as many companies state it is against policy. YMMV but that’s the line I’ve gotten, even when getting an offer.
You can try to do some practice interviews online. There are quite a few sites that will allow you to schedule one.
