Hey guys, hope everyone is having a good day! I am currently working on getting my real estate license in WA. I can’t afford to quit my job and focus strictly on real estate for 6 months (potentially) with no income. I plan on doing as much as I can after work and on the weekends, with the network that I have (to start with). For those in the industry, what would you recommend? And what would be best for me to do in this situation?
Full time or bust, most agents don't make it past the first year. If it's your passion and intended career you gotta dive in or will likely be out hustled. Don't mean to be a downer, just a super tough business to jump into.
I suggest you offer very low commissions. Redfin only takes 1% from seller.
Check the fine, fine print on Redfin’s 1% listing and you are dealing with mediocre agents
Are you willing to take time off during offer submission and closing? Expect a lot of work with no pay as a buyer agent until you have a good reputation.
Thank you for the feedback guys
Find a team to work for so it doesn't have to be FT and you have a strong mentor. Having access to a knowledgeable & accessible broker is essential. If you don't have an in with a particular brokerage, then research your options and interview for the best fit, tools, marketing, tech & commission structure.
