Lets us consider the recent immigration related changes: 1. No RFE, straight reject along with NTA => no re-entry for 3-10 years. 2. No premium processing for H1b transfers 2.1 Force employees to not switch jobs, thus frustrating them and keeping wages suppressed. 2.2 Force employers to not hire candidates requiring H1b transfers. There should be absolutely no doubt that the sequence of changes is entirely by design with a single goal in mind - self-deportation. Given that the Admin needs to shows its base something and given that they cannot touch the illegals being protected by the dems and lib-media, they decided to go after the low-hanging fruit, the political orphans - the tax-paying, law-abiding legals. The fact that the head honcho has no lost love for the big tech companies has almost certainly helped things along. The IT services companies from India, and their smaller, poorer clones in the US, the shady consulting firms, with their rampant misuse of the H1b , L1A, EB1-C pipelines has also had a big role to play in bringing things to this bad state. At the end of the day, it is the genuine candidate, the folks working for product based companies, most of them with advanced degrees from the US, many who had research funding with publications, patents, etc, who ends up suffering. In the long term, it is highly likely that the US will lose its status as the sole leader in the tech industry. China is already well underway and India is starting up. These steps will only accelerate that process and/or eliminate any possibility of avoiding it. Truly a very sorry state of affairs.
What is NTA
A letter informing you that removal proceedings are being initiated
Notice to appear(before an immigration judge)
part of the plan is also to put f1 students on CAP gap out of status, if by 30th september there is no decision on their applications, they will be forced to leave their jobs. No other company will want to interview them (since they dont have a valid visa status yet). Even if someone gets a approval post 30th september. they will still have to go through normal processing for the transfer (which is indefinite as of now), so no company will be willing to do that. Another plan maybe to reject those applications after sept 11, that way the student will be forced out directly.
Instead of attacking H1s, why don’t they stop outsourcing ... that will bring a lot of jobs back to the county... I feel they are attacking the problem wrong way.. So much of work is outsourced abroad by our company...
America always had different forms of slavery and human rights abuse in the guise of capitalism
Fundamentally, there are similarities between this, and the low-wage immigrant worker slavery in the mid-east. One perhaps being a more sophisticated version of the other.
Government intervention in hiring is 100% Socialist, how is this even in the guise of Capitalism in any way?
