Recommendations for dining alone

Amazon wassup!

Any recommendations in Seattle to have a nice meal and desert solo? So tired of going to regular places and being awkwardly buried in my phone, or feeling bad about taking up an entire table.

Confidence bro. Who cares anyway? If it bothers you that much, sit at the bar!

You should just eat alone with confidence. No one cares

I know what you mean. I've done it lots. I've also struck up a conversation with an adjoining table many times. Has always been fun. Sometimes kept in touch for years afterward (that time the adjoining table was in Barcelona!!).

I don't know where you are from or from where anyone responding to this thread is from but I find the situation extremely sad that the human race has reduced itself to the place where we are all so lonely....What is the point of living like this, that shit ton of money we earn is totally worthless

@0xdeaf you’re right. The situation is def sad. Are you a couple or single? I’m from the Bay Area and the situation is extremely appalling here

Japanese restaurants almost always have a small sushi bar where patrons by themselves don't stick out

I've dined alone a few hundred times, and it works lol - same when dining with others though, if you care about being treated well in public

sure it's not always necessary, but at finer restaurants you'll be waiting longer for someone to take your order or might not get a seat at crowded times if you come in looking like rags

Maybe try dating apps and have a dinner date to avoid eating alone. It works for me. I go on 3 dates a week.

Eat up at the bar, bring a physical paper book to read. Leave the phone in your pocket/handbag.

Hey there, I can relate to the awkwardness - I felt very awkward/self-conscious eating by myself back in college when I lived in a hostel. It wasn’t always possible to have company at meal times. I managed to overcome this, and boy what a relief!

What a relief to be able to enjoy your meal sitting by yourself without a care of “what people think”!

It’s a process, it’s about developing confidence, it’s about you realizing that eating by yourself is “not lame”, it’s also about you not judging others who are eating alone or out by themselves.

    Godspeed!
