I am getting hit up on LinkedIn and email from recruiters every week. I have been ghosting mostly every one of them. I am flattered with the attention but some of the companies I have no interest in or the position is just bland. I also don't want to entertain the process or "schedule a quick call" when I am not looking to move yet. I will soon enough just not now. So tldr: what should I do with recruiters on Linkedin when I am not looking to make a move yet/not interested in position? Should i continue to ghost? What are some communications to use if I want to get back in touch when the timing is right?
I would get back to them as a courtesy and say something like" Thank you for contacting me. Currently I am not looking for a job change however if anything changes I will get back".You can always reply to this same msg later when u r hunting for a job
If I was a recruiter, I would appreciate a response back even if you're not interested in the moment. That way, we can keep in touch for future opportunities.
As per some recent survey, it turns out that only 3% of recruiters would bother you if you are have more than 10 years of experience. So if you have lesser than that, take the opportunity and make sure you are done with job changes, if you have more than 10 years experience, then there must be something outstanding in ur resume
When the timing is right you will have no problem getting recruiters to talk to you. Feel free to ignore them until then.
