My wife interviewed with Starbucks for a Systems Analyst Role. The interview went smooth. They were looking for an API person and in the first few mins, they told her that her previous project is exactly similar to what they are looking for. The remaining 20 mins of each session turned into an office tour and chit chat. Now, it has been 4 days since the onsite was over. We sent a friendly follow up and the recruiter said she should have an update by today. She requested a time to talk. We were eagerly waiting for the call. Now, she says she was triple booked and requesting for a time tomorrow to connect. Now, my wife is confused. We were wondering: 1. Would the recruiter at Starbucks call to just relay rejection decision? They could do it via email. Or do they call only to proceed forward with the offer? 2. Usually, when the team wants to move forward, the recruiter will look to close the deal sooner than later right? She missed calling my wife today. So, my wife things it’s most likely a rejection. Or could she be getting an offer? This is an opportunity which she is really looking forward to. What do you ppl think? As always, thanks in advance for sharing your thoughts!

What’s not important to you, might be important for others 😀
Could be either. Rejection call is typically fast so why delay the inevitable? Maybe they are finalizing the offer term etc or waiting for another interview feedback to make a decision.
That’s what we were thinking. Hence the excitement for today. Why would she postpone to tomorrow? May be she got really busy
How many interviews did she have onsite? I can't say but it seems like a reject to me but you never know. Keeping my fingers crossed for your wife.
6 interviews for 45 mins each
Was the last twenty minutes behavioral questions or not interview focused at all? It doesn't seem good each one has an office tour.
I say it can go both ways. I had a recruiter schedule a call with me after onsite to then tell me that I’m rejected. I also had others where it’s good news. It just depends on the recruiter. I’d much prefer rejections over email, saves everyone time. Good luck! Hope your wife gets offer
Thanks. I hope so too. She deserves what she wants
Keep us posted!
If its chit chat, then it was a PERM interview
I doubt it. Since they flew her out from SF to Seattle for the interview and put her in a nice hotel as well.
Make it look real
Hope you’re not a black man. You wouldn’t last 20min at Starbucks.

Relax.
I’m certain it’s an offer. Good luck
It’s an offer I’m guessing. The company moves at a glacial pace at best. Everyone I know that fast tracked still took 2 or 3 months to align. It would be weeks between hearing from the recruiter but they wanted you immediately available when they were.
Got an update from recruiter today. She said my wife got very positive reviews all around. They are interviewing another person today and we will know only by Wed next week. The recruiter did ask my wife about what other opportunities she has and how are her timings for joining etc. My wife said this is her top priority. Hoping for some good news next week.
That’s great! Hang in there and hope your wife gets it!
Yes
You mean reject?
