Yes another one. I have a referral for a safety manager position at LinkedIn, currently interviewing for a Blue Origin Lead Engineer position, and currently interviewing for a Safety Manager position for a large oil and gas company. I enjoy working in Aerospace and Oil/gas, but would much rather be in tech. There are some safety and health positions that have opened for Google and Facebook which I am very qualified for. Would anyone be willing to help out? My background is in Engineering Management, database administration, Quality and Safety. TC: 115k YOE: ~9
Who are these people that would refer some stranger? If you have not directly worked with the person and they cannot vouch for your skills, referral is pointless. In that case it's no different than just applying on company website.
I’ve referred a stranger before. Person got the job. Got paired with them golfing, they wanted to work in my field. Had them send their resume so I could review their qualifications to determine if they would be a good fit. Then referred them. So the referral got them an interview and eventually the job.
