Hi TeamBlind, I am looking for a referral at Google for the post of Language Manager, Localization (Vietnamese) at Google. I am now a linguist/quality control specialist for Netflix in the localization industry. I have 4 years of experience, and I started out as a language coordinator at Coursera where I managed their linguist team for Data Science and Machine Learning courses before being onboarded with Netflix. I'm more than willing to forward my resume. Thank you.
Make sense. How about when you already passed on site interviews, would it help to have a referral strengthens your application?
The referrals only help if they can answer work-related questions about you. Did we work on the same project, were you my manager/my report, were you a peer but on a different project, and various questions like that.
I've referred probably 30 people, not a single one has gotten hired

Just know that google referrals don’t do much. The very first question is “how do you know then: coworker, friend, random internet person” and we can imagine what happens when ‘rando’ is clicked. If it happens to be from a hiring manager who has an opening for a specific role, sure that probably works since they’ll be able to talk to the recruiter and get a screen set up.
I see, thanks for the advice. I just think it's worth a try to ask for one. The post is not that common and the language pair is rare, so I think I'm a good fit for the role. I saw the job post has been re-posted a few times before I decided to apply. This is my first time of applying for Google, and I'm looking around for advice.
