Couple of my friends changed teams to go to Amazon Go and they ended up back in the previous team in a couple months - so run! From what I’ve heard, it’s a highly mismanaged org with bunch of terribly written code and add to that the terrible oncall load.
Avoid Go. Shit show.
Can you elaborate why? I’m joining amazon soon and like to understand what are some indicators of poor teams/orgs within the company.
Management. It's got a terrible oncall, and imo, upper management creates a terrible environment that trickles down to ICs. If you don't have a very strong manager, it doesn't end well.
