Seeking referrals to db, uber and fb. Have 1.5 yoe at mid sized company in bay area, looking to increase my tc and transition to more infrastructure / backend related work vs full stack product. Feel the teams at these companies are very strong for this type of work. Also the company I work at is enterprise focused and I kind of hate that. 250+ lc, code rust, grokking sys design interview, designing data intensive systems Onsites on the way for yelp and aws. TC: 130k
So if a startup needed you to implement a crytocurrency exchange or legal document management system, would you be able to do it? My plan maybe would be to ask to look at what they have set up now. Break the problem down piece by piece. Then try to apply what I learned from āGrokking the System Design Interviewā.
DM me for UBER referral
will do. Thank you!
How was your experience at a startup? Did you learn a lot? I have 4.5 yoe but only worked at non-fang large companies. I didnāt really build much - mostly maintenance work and reimplementation/refactoring of existing products.
Personally i feel like i did learn a lot. I was able to take on a lot of work because my coworkers on my team are simply not that passionate about work and I put in a lot of work into understanding and taking ownership of the ugly parts so my manager was able to trust me with interesting work since he knew i was good at digging into details. The thing I probably really learned the most is performance analysis on jvm based applications (in depth profiling of jvm based apps), some DDD in practice (half baked at our company, but the concepts are there) and variety of api implementation techniques for products.
one caveat, maybe start up was the wrong term. We have 500 employees, 120ish who are engineers, just to give some ideas
