Regarding OPT extension

My OPT started three months back, I havent completed my thesis defense which comes under cap stone project. Since I had completed all the course work I was allowed to file for OPT. But now I am not able to defend my thesis before next summer so I wont be having degree before filing for stem opt extension. Can anybody point out to any solution if there is any? Reposting to get some solution.
