Regretting my move

I recently moved from a role where I was being paid crap and not doing what I wanted to do (we were stuck using excel when I wanted to utilize my sql and python skills). Now I'm in a role where I'm paid decently and I'll get to at least use sql, but the team I'm on just isn't very skilled. I feel like the rest of the team is holding me back we're not doing truly innovative work because my coworkers can barely write a sql query. For example, we're all being shown by our boss how to connect bigquery to google sheets, that's easy shit for me. Do I stick it out here (I'm 3 weeks in) or start looking for a more advanced role?

Or, you could kill it with this team, impress the manager and other managers, and leverage that for top rating and promo. Just a thought.

3 weeks is too early to know. Give it some more time.

isn’t this environment a perfect place for you to contribute your skills and get closer to your career goal, whatever it is?

I guess so. It's just kind of discouraging because my boss seems to assume I have almost no sql skills. I'm not sure how to combat that assumption

Combat it by crushing the tasks she assigns you. Ask for more. Have a conversation with her about how you believe you’re ready to tackle her biggest problems and go forth and conquer. You’re never ‘given’ an opportunity to shine.

It’s early. Take your time and find opportunities to showcase your skills. Dont wait, take a task and make it yours, build an outside the box solution (maybe on the side, after you did what was expected from you) Don’t stick too long after you have evidence that this place is not for you. But 3 weeks might be short to come to that conclusion.

Thank you all for your input, I've been stepping up my game to make my proficiency clear and have had a conversation with my manager. I'm on track for getting/creating more advanced work. This has been a valuable learning opportunity
