I applied for Sr Program Manager role into the safety and insurance team at Uber. I had an on-site and thought it went decently well. But they came back to me today with a no-go decision. I am struggling to find a way to land into non-tech roles in a tech company. My background has been in systems analysis, product management, and program management. I currently work at Wells Fargo (prev. at Visa) and trying to move into tech. Can anyone share their success stories of changing industry? What companies I should look into coming from Finance/Payments? I am currently living in SF and not planning to relocate. TC 160k
Check out fintech companies e.g. Stripe, Square, Affirm, Brex, Blend, Bolt, Coinbase, etc.
Thanks. Spoke with a team (Ops) from Stripe. I was seriously surprised with the lack of communication and how they handled job interview process.
Don’t be. HR/recruiting are the last orgs to be staffed in a startup. Quite often critical aspects are delegated to super junior employees, interns or even outsourcing companies. This means the interview process in many of them is simply broken. Don’t let it deter you.
Try Paypal, not the best out there but not a bad time to join
I made the transition from industrial to tech. I started working in operations to bridge the gap. We're hiring for those type of positions now. Dm me if you want to chat

28 terrorist worshipping idiots just got themselves fired and I've never been prouder to work at Google.
You’re 8 years too late. Tech is overvalued and due for a major collapse including job losses. Wait for the recession and then decide where you want to apply.
