Rejected many times

I have been rejected many times by FAANG companies whenever I applied for internships since the past 1 year. I am unable to detect the fault in my resume. My friends say my resume stands out to be the strongest. I have been learning new technologies like using Red hat developer studio to develop fuse integration projects or using Quarkus and even working at open source organizations like CNCF and chromium repository. My friends who just sit with LC got into good companies. I am now getting depressed day by day. What to do ?

Even i have been doing LC but still should I not stand a chance to get shortlisted for coding round. With just a few projects they are getting shortlisted while I have those all besides good internship experiences.

  • TC or gtfo. Also LC, no one gives a shit about those technologies. Harsh truth but you need to hear it if you want to shoot higher.

No one cares about the resume for interns or new grads. School matters and coding performance (LC) matters. That’s it.

It's not about how many buzzwords you throw in, its about how you use those buzzwords. So you used Quarkus but did you just do the getting started tutorial or make something of value? You need to think like that.

Honestly, that still literally tells me nothing about how you used it and to what extent. Understanding how to properly communicate this was the key to getting my resume picked up even without recommendations.

For example you can say: i used Quarkus's xyz functionality inside of an application to do xyz with data/information/users during a hackathon. Btw i dont know what quarkus is, but if i read something like that i could pick up from context what Quarkus is and how impressive it is to use.

Okay when i try to do so the resume gets extended to 2 pages. So I just didnt focus on explaining those

Also make to sure explain only what you did. If the entire project is very large and does xyz, you shouldnt say you made a project that did xyz or else it seems unclear what exactly you did or it seems like youre inflating. Just say something like: worked on a microservice that processing requests for xyz using abc before passing the processed data to another service.

It's because of your English. Work on that first. Then switch to LC. Who gives a rat's ars about Red hat studio?

1 page is crucial for new grads. People dont want to hear about every commit, just the highlights

Just do LC. You are doing more than expected. Expectation at your level is minimal and you are focusing on what the industry doesn't need at the moment. Demand and supply. Give them what they need.
