i gave 7 interviews, got one offer 5 onsite rejections and one phone interview rejection. while i am going to join the one company which gave the offer, i am upset that all others failed. gives a feel of worthlessness. It feels so sad to get rejection emails one after the other. any ideas how you guys cope with this ?
All you need is one job. I think you glad that you got that. A friend of mine counted 173 reject letters and got his dream job couple of years later. I admired his ambition.
Overtime rejections started fueling my hunger to become much better. It has now shaped my goals for next year. I believe in myself and I know a few interviews where I got rejected because of noob interviewers and a few where I genuinely lost.
Fuck those companies that rejected you and use that as motivation. We're all gonna make it.
Not companies, interviewers
in the whole day of interviews just one bad ass interviewer is enough to ruin the chances. almost always we get one of them. once a rogue interviewer at paypal even caused hr issues asking the interviewee all the illegal questions. i think hr should record the whole interview process to take care of these bad ass interviewers. It happens, anyway you can keep trying for some more time as now you have one offer in hand you will be more confident and use it for negotiation.
Which 7 companies - the million dollar question. As far as coping with failure is concerned, your record is not bad. Even getting to onsites is a big deal
