I have been interviewing with Amazon for a front end engineer role and they are asking what my expectation for a relocation package is. Any suggestions on what I should ask for? Current situation: Homeowner in California being offered a role in Seattle HQ w/ AWS dept. Thanks!
Just guessing here: the actual moving costs + 3 months of rent at your home (since you have to interview tenants) + home management fees + 1 month rent in seattle. (since you have to look for a new place)
I can only speak for Apple, but it looked like this for their ‘leadership’ relocation package: full pack, move, unpack; 1 car; pets; 45 days of temp housing; airfare one way; flat allowance 12,500; flat home owners assistance 5,000. It was substantially insufficient.
That’s weird. Amazon usually has one relo package for everyone and it pretty much covers everything. Not sure what the expectation bit is
Right, that's what I've read from this site. So im unsure how to approach the question.
Just set the expectation that you would like your entire house moved where the movers pack and ship to Seattle. You would like to 2 (more than 2?) cars moved. You can ask that you need help selling your house or buying one in Seattle. And that you would need 30-45 days of accommodation till you find a neighborhood to live
