Remote work

Looking for a 80-100% remote role but they all seem to be for customer support roles.

How can I find a full time remote role that's with a reputable tech company, as a W-2 employee (not contractor), and has a strong career trajectory?

Strong career trajectory and remote don’t usually go well together...big part of career trajectory is based on connection and relationships

It would seem ideal if you prefer to live an easier life than do extreme FIRE. I'm also interested in something like this but my role makes it very difficult.

How would I go about doing that?

What I'm saying is that gunning for FIRE usually means sacricing stuff in the present to retire early. Searching for remote work is usually seen as the opposite, trying to enjoy life as much as possible even if you take more time to retire.

I don't think I can give much advice on either of the paths though, just putting my two cents out there.

Thanks for the additional info! I've done the sacrifice thing the past 10 years, now I need to chill....but still pay rent ;)

One of the things I want to do with remote work is immediately move to a cheaper place! Big cities are expensive af!

I'm 100% remote, no travel, as a ServiceNow developer. I love it, but do understand the face to face gets you promoted. I just hate office life and commuting with a fiery passion.

Search for this on Blind. Been asked quite a bit. Gitlab, Github, digital ocean, remote.co, angel.co

Solution engineers aka PreSales engineers aka sales engineers can be fully remote. You may have to travel though. If you don’t want to do any travel look into remote Solution Architect roles.

I don't have an engineering background, do these roles generally require that

Cisco is almost all remote for many positions. Been working from home for 10 years with the occasional customer trip.

Check out Auth0. I almost took a remote job with them. Seem like a good company.
