I’m split between moving cities on a remote salary. I’m making tech money and I could afford any city and would love a place like Manhattan, but is it worth it? Miami on paper has many of the checkboxes, cheap, no income tax, sunny, fit people. I could buy a beach front 2br condo. Is Miami good for a fellow 25yr old techie? Or should I drop the cash for NYC?
Go live there for a few weeks and see if you can tolerate the climate.
The average temp is 75 in Miami
It’s the humidity that gets people.
Hurricanes!!
Miami isn’t that cheap. Have you actually been there?
I had considered this. The plan was to split 2 cities in a year. Winter/Fall in Miami Summer/Spring in Philly Miami is good if you love a**. And oh boy, do I. TL;DR - Miami FTW
How do you make that work? Eg do you think you can find 6 month leases?
Florida is cheap but Miami has the highest col in comparison
I don't think anyone in Florida is sentient
Try Miami in the summer before you think it is so great. It has no tech scene. The real estate market heavily depends on whether Central and South Americans have good economies and can buy property.
Miami and nyc have completely different cultures. It seems like you have never been to either of these places. Maybe spend a little time investigating the places, or even visiting them. Then figure out what kind of life style you're actually looking for
Weather in the east coast sucks. NYC too cold, Miami too hot/humid
NC is a good compromise
