I got an offer from company A and accepted it. Now I have a much better offer from Company B. Can I still accept it without any legal retribution? I know I'll be burning bridges with company A but this seems like a really great opportunity
You have to look out for yourself. HR nor the company, nor the investors genuinely care about you as an individual. Weigh the outcomes and take a calculated risk. In a few years, it'll be nothing more than a memory. If you do pull the plug, be sure a craft a good reason for documentation purposes. It can be general enough to get you out without getting blacklisted, which you want to avoid. If you really want to play negotiation...use the better offer as leverage. "I recently received an offer too good to ignore and want to share the terms (not company) to see if we can bridge the gap." Bear in mind: depending on the company's culture, you'll either be labeled greedy and self-serving and they may terminate the offer (saves you from pulling out), or they'll appreciate your position and work with you. It's funny how Ayn Rand-following CEOs coincidentally lose their copies when someone else is trying to act in his/her own self interest.
There is risk if the work transfer is already complete. Check with your attorney.
Not true. You can have active h1b approval with multiple companies. It's not really a "transfer"
Immediately start H1b transfer from your company to B. Make sure your company does not send termination notice to USCIS before you begin H1b transfer to company B
What stage of the transfer you are in ?
No legal problem with that.
Go where you are paid well. Why do you care about the company that does not want to pay you what you are worth?
Hey my brother works at your company. I love your Nalgene bottles!
You'll definitely burn bridges, maybe blacklisted. They've put a lot of time and money into your immigration process as well. Legally, you should be fine.
Yeah, company A is AMZN and they'll be around for a long time. So I am a bit worried about being blacklisted
I did this to Amazon and they got pissed but still try to recruit me weekly
