Renew for L1 visa while I94 is still valid

Hi, My L94 is still valid for more than a year. How can i get new L1 visa stamp from oversea US consulate as the old one has already been expired. Is the process same as applying for L1 visa at the first place? I can't find the option to indicate 'renewing L1 visa stamp' from the list of available options. Thx
