Both CV joints and bearings in both wheels? 500 is a good price especially including parts
No, this is just for labor. Parts are another $600 (but I can get them online for $160)
Wanna cheaper do it yourself! People outside IT also want to eat. // You can do it by yourself, you just need shop press and some tools and 4-12 hours of your time, so whatever is cheaper to you
So $500 is the cheapest you've heard of? I'm fine paying for labor but this seemed excessive for a 1-2hr job
Started looking this up online and it seems that the bearing is pressed onto the hub assembly. You can just replace both without bothering with the press and it should slide on (according to YouTube?)
Having done the work myself before, I'd not do it for anything less. Buy your axle and bearing / hub from OEM, aftermarket are junks and won't last (so you have to pay that $500 again). If you absolutely have to, buy used from junkyard, they are better than new aftermarket (out of spec Chinese) or rebuild aftermarket (grind out the heat treatment, wont' last)
