I've typically read that if your current employer tries to counter an external offer when you resign, you should generally still resign. This way there is no bad blood, and your management chain doesn't have a preset head to chop when layoffs occur. Contrary to this, has anyone ever actually accepted a counter to stay and continued a longer term career, or is it always doomed long term?
Don’t accept counter offer if it’s from ibm
Not from Uber either lol
I think it really depends on your relationship with your manager
What if counter offer is promotion, say to the same level of your manager
Just move on. It’s rarely just about the money
^ Accepted counter offer but shouldn’t have done it, it’s really not only about the money!
I went with the counter offer and stayed another 7 years. It have me leverage. They realized they couldn't take me for granted, and I was good at the job.
Was this at Amazon or another company?
