Let's say smb with 3 y.o.e. (not US) and non-US BSc&MSc degrees in Data Science moves to US and has work authorization. Moreover, the experience and degrees are from developing countries e.g. China, India, Brazil, UAE. And the University is unknown. Will that person have hard times to find his first job in Bay Area? Is US degree/experience obligatory? I feel that US does not care much about your degrees and what country you came if you have relevant experience and have some skills. Am I wrong?
To summarize - developing country, work experience in no name company (easily fakeable) and degree from no name university (degree mill with no entrance requirement)? It will be hard to land first job but it has nothing to do with respect for international work experience. Degree from IIT Bombay or Tsinghua with work experience in Baidu/flip kart will land you 10 interviews first day you look for work.
The most difficult part will be getting your foot in the door, i.e. getting an interview. After that you're more or less on equal footing with the ivy league grads.
Just wanted to point it out, if a company selects an international candidate, in the h1b visa filing, it does say bachelor level international degree is equivalent of bachelors in us. So as far as candidate is accepted by the company, it doesnt matter if degree has respect or no.
What’s your work authorization?
H4 maybe?
Ead l2 let's say. But that matters?
