Hello all, I am sure based on the post seen here that not many work in retail but some do work for big telecommunications companies. I’ve been encountering some unethical directives at work from my direct store manager (I am a sales manager) that I consider to be CPNI violations. Said manager name Pete tried to instruct me to access accounts and make device changes simply to game KPIs that were missed. I simply refused to make changes of account device but did access the account properly to ensure the sales rep did indeed not do his metric & left a notation for evidence of SM giving me directive to access account for research. Store manager ended up not doing it himself but did make a change to make said customers come in to store forcibly. Should I report this? I feel uncomfortable with this type of playbook directive but fear retaliation for not doing his dirty management style to game metrics but also fear that reporting it will just cause them to slowly find technicality reasons to fire me.
Don’t put your best interests or income at risk trying to play ethics cop. If your company values integrity you wouldn’t have to wonder whether to report it or how. You should get out of that company as soon as you can.
Thank you, I definitely do not want to be a ethics cop. I just felt he did not like me not wanting to violate CPNI protocol and right away started to nick pick certain things. I will closely monitor the situation. Getting out is definitely something I am trying to do at T-Mobile corporate based retail.
Get everything lined up for a new job and report it.
Retail is dead, electronics retail has always had this unethical stuff.
I do agree. It’s been a fun gig but I’m starting to realize this isn’t long term but did learn a lot of great management skills.
whistleblower!
Absolutely report this. You should have an integrity hotline of some kind, but if not you should skip level and let their manager know what’s going on.
Report it
No question you report this CPNI violations could cost the company millions in fines not to mention the trust hit from customers
Call the company ethics hotline. It is confidential.
Report it ASAP. Your company should have an anti-retaliation policy that will protect you. If you don't report it and it comes out another way, your job will also be at risk because you knew and didn't say anything.

start leetcoding
Dude 😂
I can’t say that is my best core skill set as I haven’t messed with coding in a long time. I will consider it as I did use to love coding when I use to compile amature ROMs for my nexus back in the day. 😂
