TIL: FTC Announces Rule Banning Noncompetes
Do ppl at FANGS talk about only money all the time? I'm sick of ppl who just talk about money all the time.. TC : 200k
People who prepared too hard and leetcoded all the time to push themselves to get past the hiring bar at a FANG always talk about their TC as a way of letting others know they are top shot. Smart and intelligent people at FANGs don't need to justify/defend their knowledge by talking about their TC. Rather, the people who naturally belong at a FANG speak about normal things, things they read online, books they like, movies, and some intelluctual conversations. I know some people personally and professionally at a FANG. Those that belong there 'naturally' are natural fits and don't talk about their TC. The 'try hards' and people who don't belong at a FANG but ended up there because all they did was read Gorkking the System Design Interview and did Leetcode all weekend can't shut up about how much they make.
Funny enough, those that can't shut up about their TC are the single ones, the ones that again apply the 'try hard' approach to dating and fail miserably. They fail to understand that relationships aren't Leetcode and there is no single straight path to a relationship. The human 'emotion' can't be solved and you have to read between the words and disect the feelings. I see them struggle and try to help, but they are so full of themselves that they can't stop talking about their TC, EVEN ON DATES. Now some of them are reaching mid 30s and getting desperate and hopefully 1 day they understand.
How did this get so many likes. The fuck is naturally belong at a FANG. It's not some exclusive club it's a place to work that happens to pay well.
It’s only FB and G. Don’t thing Amzn or Apple Pay that well. Netflix hires too little and only for specific roles
I've never heard people talk about pay except on Blind. We all work in Tech. We all are doing well. Maybe because I'm in NYC and I have friends that have PhDs that make 1/3 of what I do and they work on socially critical problems like reducing HIV deaths. I'd be delusional to think my pay is indicative of how smart or valuable I am. We just have a skill that happens to be in demand.
Marry me.
Well, this is the same as walking into a strip club and asking, “Do ppl here talk only about strippers?” Blind, as we all know, is an app for anonymous work talk. By design, it encourages people to talk about things they would rather not talk about openly in their workplace. So yeah, that’s why you see everyone talk mostly about money. Sure, you can always go to the strip club and poke around folks to ask things like “what is consciousness” or “has science become too dogmatic in the 21st century” or “how much control should any parent have over their children and for how long” etc. But I can’t guarantee that they would respond to you genuinely because, well, it’s a strip club. So, you get the gist.
Lol asking "has science become too dogmatic" in a strip club :D
I did informational at Facebook and the HM asked me to give examples of agile development, experimentation and fail early fail fast cases. I got the feeling the guy was looking for some hardcore cases of big failures. He didn’t show as much enthusiasm when I described successes. Anyway, didn’t go further as role was not a good fit
??
Wtf is fail early fail fast? Is this a behavior question?
