Robert Half contractor compensation

I was contacted by a Robert Half recruiter who let me know that there is an opportunity with a client in Pleasanton. It's a contract role as IT Program Manager for $90 an hour. The weird thing is that he asks for a rate confirmation before the interview. Is this normal for contracting jobs? Is $90 an hour a good rate? I have no idea how to assess this situation. Has anyone ever gotten a contracting job can chime in on this? How much of a cut is Robert Half getting?

They would be getting at least 30%.

Wouldnt the 90 be what's left after the agency gets their cut?

I was a Robert Hf recruiter for five years. If the recruiter is quoting you $90 an hour that is what you would make. If they are paying you $90 an hour, they are billing the client at least $150/hr
