https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2019/apr/13/facebook-spends-226m-to-keep-mark-zuckerberg-safe-last-year Facebook more than doubled the money it spent on top executive Mark Zuckerberg’s security in 2018 to $22.6m, a regulatory filing has showed. Zuckerberg drew a base salary of $1 for the past three years, and his “other” compensation was listed at $22.6m, most of which was for his personal security. Nearly $20m went toward security for Zuckerberg and his family, up from about $9 million the year prior. Zuckerberg also received $2.6m for personal use of private jets, which the company said was part of his overall security program.
Without comparing this to other similarly sized and exposed company CEOs this statement is pure useless clickbait material
OP - do you always the to post news? Your previous post was regarding h1b.
Good for him.
TC on the bodyguard role?
As Mark has gotten older, replacement parts and basic maintenance (oiling him, changing his filters, software updates, etc) has gotten more expensive. Mark was wise to have the foresight to steal an idea like Facebook because it’s going to keep him maintained for many years.
Any idea how much the security guys get paid?
Secret Service agents barely make 6 figures but say triple that for private/tech (and exposure to sensitive info that’s harder to protect by force of law/national security guidelines alone), start with baseline 3 close protection teams just for MZ, wife, and kids, baseline *at least* 3 personnel per detail, and that’s already single digit millions for peeps w/glocks standing in the room. Then electronic/cyber/surveillance and location security teams for multiple residences in multiple countries, transportation/logistics in exotic vicks, etc. if I was MZ I’d certainly extend my security umbrella to mom, dad, sis, etc. So tbh, 20+M sounds pretty low. (datapoint: budget for protection for trump + family is $120M annual)
It's like he is a well known and public CEO.
They’re there to keep mark safe. Not, like, keep mark, like, totally cool and stuff, like.
