How good are SAS Institute certifications and what are the prospects for good paying jobs?
SAS is dying. Learn Python instead.
If your company or one you are interested in is a SAS shop then there are great benefits to learning SAS, if you have those tools at your disposal. If not, then I would agree with others and encourage learning both SAS (because it is still very relevant with pharma, banking, research, etc) as well as Python and R. The newest SAS platform offers python and R integration, allowing collaboration for a data science team with many skill sets. Plus great gui.
Thanks for the insight
Dude learn python instead. You'll thank me later. I came from a SAS background. SAS programming is proprietary and not OOP. Python will be more relevant. Even banks are planning to ditch SAS over time, so it'll be a useless skill in coming years.
Thanks man.
To clarify and play my own devil's advocate, if putting in a few hours will get you some promotion in short term, then still might make sense. But for long term goals, don't sink too much time into SAS.
