SF homeless population rose 30% since 2017

By this point I'll even take a Giuliani or Bloomberg and have them clean up the city NY style. https://www.sfchronicle.com/bayarea/article/The-numbers-are-in-SF-homeless-population-rose-14080982.php

I love how majority of the article talks about the way the population was measured instead of, I don’t know... explaining how officials will reduce the 30% increase... This city is a filthy joke.

Bold of you to think that city officials even have a coherent plan that's worth reporting in the first place 😂

😂😂 so true

Amazon Amz Jul 9, 2019

Increase in IPO millionaires are directly proportional to increase in homeless poor folks. Unfortunate but true - more and more people will be pushed to brink of minimum wage with ever rising TCs. Really hope this ends.

Intel gifkapa Jul 9, 2019

Why would some people getting richer drive down wages of others? The inverse has not been true when homeless populations declined.

Amazon Amz Jul 9, 2019

Because someone’s Tc of $200k today will be a Bay Area minimum wage two years down the lane.

How exactly would you "clean up" people?

Shower, shave, haircut, deodorant, washed clothes. Bam! Does wonders.

Facebook public2 Jul 9, 2019

Then what? Clean homeless people are still homeless...

NYC had similar income inequality in the 90s with the gap between those in invest banking/consulting and entertainment versus others was huge. Real estate was unaffordable for most. Homelessness and crime were at its peak when gulliani cleaned up the mess. IPOs and tech millionaires do not cause homelessness. P.S: income inequality is a big issue. But homesslesnes can be addressed separately for immediate solutions Also, today's gulliani is just a trump suck up.

The more you know: You don't have income inequality when everybody is poor

If they are all Democratic voters, this might not be as bad as it sounds.

Those are rookie numbers. Gotta pump those numbers up

Yeah! They can do better!

Apple purifier Jul 9, 2019

A lot of those are coming from out of state, for instance Texas. But the part I am more interested is how would you solve this problem?

Oath Atinlay2 Jul 9, 2019

By not voting blue.

Microsoft 🙈🙉🤷‍♀️w Jul 9, 2019

Vote for public housing, YIMBY policies, and mental health institutions. Get involved with a non-profit or activist group. If you are lazily complaining about homelessness while simultaneously driving up rent then you are part of the problem.

Facebook jfq0156 Jul 9, 2019

If all societal issues have to be solved by the people, then why do we even have a government. Don't confuse Civic engagement with personal responsibility.

Microsoft 🙈🙉🤷‍♀️w Jul 9, 2019

Because our government is awful and not sympathetic to anyone but donors. Organize and vote them out.
