SRA [Samsung research America, mountain view] pay

Hello blind,

my first post here,

I have got positive feedback from SRA as cloud engineer,
recruiter haven't told me anything about the pay range initially, could you please help me with pay scale. does Samsung low baller?

My background :-
YOE : 6.5yrs
Role @SRA : cloud engineer
Currently : contracting at KP.

other companies interviews in pipeline workday, amazon, oracle, Salesforce, service now.

    I am currently working for Samsung and I can clearly tell you: 1. Samsung doesn't care about its people, what they care is only "worker" who follows order. So if you are the people who has your own thinking, this is not a place for you, but if you are a worker who is good at "yes sir", you will be fine. 2. Everyone in oversea office is second class comparing to HQ, if you don't speak Korean, you are the third class. 3. There's no long term strategy for the company because literally every VP/SVP/CEO is "contractor", their job titles are renewed every year so all they care is just short term - how to get the VP title renewed for the next year. I am done with this company.

    Which team? SRA doesnt give stock and they usually have clawback period for signing bonus. Your best bet is to negotiate +15% whatever base they say, plus 20%whatever bonus they give as part of signing. Then negotiate the clawback period to at most 2 years. Then negotiate LTIP because they don't give stock. They won't tell you about ltip but think of it like retention bonus. You can ask for retention bonus from the year your signing bonus clawback expires and have it no strings attached. Get everything in writing.

    Live oak is correct. Also tons of crap from headquarters in Korea that you will need to deal with. Bow down to the Korean overlords.

    I will try to see if you can find other offers from amazon, sales force or even service now. I am willing to bet the latter can beat what sra is willing to pay you.

    Thanks a lot for your feedback, currently I have other interviews in final stage. Do you suggest me to hold on negotiating with HR at this time ?

    I spoke with one of the employe who is recently leaving SRA per him Samsung usually a low bowler.

    Somehow the HR during interview process SRA pays competitive salary can I pitch in for $200k + as base?

    Agreed. If you have another offer go for the other one. Things are bad right now... If you don't you can always do 2 years and then leave for Facebook or Google. Almost all the good eng. have left to go there

    I think you could but it depends the level, they are having a hard time to recruit and a lot of good engineers have left. They might meet you half way
