Sad people at top companies, why?
Saw some edgy depression tweets from a FB intern. I don’t get what they have to be sad about. Am I going crazy? What’s your story?
Also, just because you're working at a big company doesn't mean you don't have other issues (like family)

A materialistic corporate rate race in silicon valley is pretty much the opposite to living a virtuous life. So yeah.

Because sad people exist everywhere. It’s a statistical impossibility to find all happy people in any given place or company. Unless your Mormon that is.

Point taken. But depression can have causes too or at least origin points. I think many at top companies have type A personalities and suffer from perfectionistic personality traits which makes them much more prone to sadness given it’s nearly impossible to be perfect at anything for any amount of time.

I don't think I've ever been depressed really. Sometimes sad, sometimes stressed but it quickly passes with some gaming/YouTube/TV

Simple, Money not always equal to Happiness
But, how? I’d be so much happier if I had a better place to live, cooler pedigreed coworkers and more financial security.
You *think* you'd be so much happier but when you finally get there, you'll realize that it makes only a negligible difference to your overall happiness. And that's exactly where all these other people you speak of are- realizing that money isn't happiness can be quite depressing at first. 😳
