That's not a data scientist, that's a minimum wage data analyst lol

A "real" data scientist in Bay starts around 225k, moving to 300k with 2 years xp. If you do SQL, that's a data analyst. Data scientist is a dead title, you want to be a ml engineer.

      How to be an mle?

Don’t listen to FINRA. Most MLEs just run and scale up pre trained models. You don’t need specialized ML knowledge beyond a coursera course to become an MLE. You can find many MLEs on LinkedIn who don’t have a masters or PhD.

@Apple thanks. This helps knowing what we don't need to be an mle. But I am still not clear about what I need.

It's acceptable if you get no better offers. Everything is relative. Nothing is deserved. Very hard to know your potential without getting many offers.

  • White male or latino black immigrant woman? Some attributes make a difference when it comes to hiring for some companies. Stay away from them.

Doesn’t sounds like a data scientist TC, agreed something is wrong. If you’re an analyst then you might want to consider moving (companies or cities).
