Can anyone help me to understand if I have time to negotiate my salary. In the initial HR round she pushed me to quote a very less salary as she does not want to even proceed if my ask is above the range. I gave the interview and did very well. I am expecting an offer from the company but I am not happy with the numbers we talked before the interview. In the initial HR round i did not expect the salary limits she mentioned so I did not handle it better. Can I let them know my expected range? Is it too late?

Now that you did well in the interview you have the upper hand. Play it wisely, stand your ground in terms of salary expectations and do not budge. Those are hr techniques that put you in rush to not let you make a good decision
You need to have an alternative to the deal falling apart in these situations. That alternative is usually an offer from another company, or the real possibility of turning down their offer and remaining with your current employer. Otherwise, they know you’d play by their rules.
Get the verbal offer first then negotiate, be willing to say no, and find your batna (competitive offer or stay at current company)
You just tell them this is not something you would like to switch job for, and you are not unemployed so you can stay where you are. Or you have a competing offer. You need to be willing to walk away in negotiation of any kind, and have the ability to.
You have to be willing to walk away from it. I did and they circled back 2 weeks later and offered me substantial more. YMMV
