I got a fantastic job offer for a head of product role and I would like to get a good deal. The new company is asking for my payslips and my expected salary but I would like them to make a first offer instead. In Glassdoor I found the following range for head of product in South East Asia: from 180 (+60 stock/bonus) to 250 (+70 stocks/bonus) (USD) Currently I'm at 130 (+65 stocks/bonus) What's the best polite and non confrontational way to get them to make an offer first? I forgot: I also would have to give back 15k to the company for bonus that was tied to stay one more year and 30k of not yet vested stocks (few months before yearly vesting)
I've never heard of recruiters or companies asking for payslips.
It's common in Asia unfortunately
Some companies do ask ... these people don’t have any shame ... as the more they can negotiate better is the incentive for them.... there are ample responses on the web as to how to politely not yield to their demands
They sometimes ask to confirm your previous employment. You can actually blackout the amounts.
Whatever Glassdoor is saying, the real numbers are more than that. Sometimes significantly more!!!
