How much max salary jump you have got in your career? And how you negotiate to reach at that point?
What's your TC/YOE? My biggest salary jumps were when I hinted that I have opportunities to switch teams/jobs. (e.g. me to mgr: man can you believe it, I met this partner team for XYZ and they kept hinting that they have positions open. Weird huh. Or... wow so and so colleague is at level X at company Y. Pretty cool)
180k Tc, 12 yoe. Feel I am way below average
Blind isn't average
In same company?
Second job
If weâre taking about salary jump at same company and not switching jobs the biggest jump I had was 25%. My manager was toxic. Attrition was high. A couple people on the team left within 3 months after I joined. I almost didnât join and turned them down at first for another job. My dog got a scratch on her eye and I had to take her to the hospital. And then wanted to WFH a few days to make sure she was fine. Completely unrelated. While manager was toxic I actually was happy. And since boss liked me (and I guess wanted me on âhis sideâ I got some really cool projects). Guess my manager got scared as shit that I was interviewing because within a couple weeks I was suddenly pulled into a meeting that âmy initial offer wasnât good enoughâ and got a 25% bump in base.
Wow. Nice
Nicest story to hear in a day.
So you had a good luck
235k. Got a new job.
Yoe?
Was it the direct job offer or you negotiated?
