Hi guys, I'm just wondering what age people on this app generally are and what their pay is (if that's allowed?). The topic of salary is so taboo in person for some reason and I don't understand why particularly, I'd prefer transparency but in our culture as it is that just isn't a thing. I only graduated last year and I'm definitely doing much better than friends and those around me but I definitely want to do better. I just have no source of comparison currently as I want to do better than the people I'm around which is why I figured I'd ask on here. Any info would be appreciated. I'm 24 and make $60K and would ideally like to be at $80K - $100K by 26-28. Statistics say that the average 36 year old makes $80-100K and I'd really like to pass that earlier. Has anyone hit that or more? Thanks in advance.
24 yo and 95 base with 7k bonus. You can aim higher.
OP. What field of work r u in, if I may ask? Edit: too much hate and toxicity. Not everyone is swe or in tech. Stop making fun.
I'm currently trying to get into tech with my background as an Industrial Designer, trying to find the stepping stones by grabbing other product design gigs which is what I do currently at L'Oreal, albeit at a very entry level.
Lots of tech companies require industrial design. U can def get into tech companies. I am not sure if it pays like swe. Bm
How can the average 36 year old make 80-100k when the national household income is around 50k. Or do you mean just in engineering?
I was speaking about my field of design/engineering specifically
Your TC at L'Oréal is réal L'O... Lots of fresh grads here make 150 to 180k
Where are you located? I'm on the east coast to new specific
Please understand those people are in Tech. That's not realistic for any other industries!
The TC here is not representative of most of America. Also a lot of folks are in the Bay Area and you need every bit of that.
Will check this out, thank you
Wow, was within 5k
At 24, I made 60k as well but that was a long time ago and I was in mid west.

Sorry bruh. Typically on Blind 26-28 yo earn $300k. Set your goal higher.
Shhh 🤫 Let him have his innocence a little bit longer.
Yeah I sensed that too. OP is definitely a cute kid with lot of innocence!
