Sales culture at Salesforce

What’s it like these days? Are people getting churned through the doors on the sales teams? I remember hearing a few years back that it was a very high pressure sales environment (higher than most). Has it mellowed out a bit? Or still the same? Are people on the sales teams generally happy and doing well?

Sales is big area with many different teams (sdrs/bdrs, smb, mid-market/commercial, enterprise/strat) Im sure things are very different in each area and by territory/geo/industry vertical... is there a specific area you were looking at?

No specific area — just trying to get a general assessment of what the sales culture is like these days...

In general there is definitely pressure to perform and it may be more than other companies but its really different by segment/geo/territory/cloud etc. Ive heard some groups like commercial (mid market) are higher pressure with more turnover but I dont know personally

The role of the Core AE is probably the hardest in the company. There has been a ton of turnover over the past year. With 20% growth YoY and the business keeps hiring, the territories are getting a lot smaller and quotas are higher than ever. Average quota attainment is 50% so with the high pressure environment and having to manage a massive team to close deals it takes a certain tolerance of stress to hit the aggressive expectations and monthly quota number. If you don’t have a good territory or set up with accounts ( that are still growing ) you will have a very hard time making money here. However if you work hard and are awarded some good accounts, you can make a very good living ( until the accounts are oversold or are implemented correctly) I’ve worked for the company for 5 years.
