What is better to choose from among Google, Microsoft, AWS for Sales Engineer position? Is google cloud even selling? Do you think Google can fight this battle...selling google cloud to enterprises? (Given google lack of experience and presence with enterprise clients, can google succeed or in other words, is google cloud good place to be at?)
I don't think Google can compete with MSFT or Amazon in the enterprise, no. Even AWS is going to have their work cut out for them. Should be a fun competition to watch.
I work with selling in Microsoft and Azure sells great. I interviewed with Google but stopped the loop. Main reason was how they structured their sales teams with one seller, one inside seller and one technical architect. It can be great if I as the technical architect get a good seller but you may also become their demo monkey and that is not what I want to do at this stage in my career. Also I would have to cover all of the stack instead of like I do today where I can specialize.
What type of role do you have now?
Hey Microsoft can you add some info here?
AI and machine learning workloads and kubernetes (came out of google) are sweet spot for google...wouldn’t you say that google can compete and win these workloads?
Not so much for enterprise. Google just doesn't have those established relationships and companies don't trust them nearly as much as MSFT. Azure just needs to stay close. Google may win business for pockets that absolutely need the best, but that doesn't describe most AI workloads. Azure is meh but it will more than get the job done.
Azure is taking everyone else to the cleaners in the enterprise space. Go with Azure
