I am at Oracle for 8 years and got an offer from SalesForce. I am bit concern about change in culture also work speed. Oracle is slow and you have more attempt to try and error. I am concerned about will I fit in fast pace SalesForce culture. Please share your honest feedback.
Product innovation is extremely slow at Salesforce, and you’ll find building new products to be bureaucratically challenging. This is very much NOT a fast paced engineering / building culture. Developers routinely complain about the challenges of building even proof of concept products.
Are u trolling us 🥺
We are so fast that none of the developers can catch up
Oracle vs Salesforce is this a turtle race?
@salesforce what is your opinion on culture? Don't think Glassdoor/others are too accurate
We are a very fast paced culture. Things always changing. Little process but very collaborative.
I’ve worked at both. Oracle for 10 years and SFDC for 5. My last stint was a return to Oracle on the CX Mid-Market team —- complete shit show. SFDC is more performance oriented right down to everyone’s V2MOM. I believe SFDC has better leadership in both Marc and Parker and several others. I’m not too much a fan of Keith Block since he brought some of the Oracle stuff with him but certainly understand why he was chosen. I’ve learned over the course of the last year during my new job search that most recruiters don’t look at Oracle as it’s not considered innovative. Also, product direction is shit at Oracle and poorly implemented internally. I do not like Oracle’s leadership and with no head of Dev (not that Kurian was any good) IMHO they are irrelevant. All this to make the point if you like bureaucratic, sloth pace whee you can hide and don’t care about career growth, Oracle is it. If you want to grow, be challenged and held accountable for your ideas and want a quicker pace then SFDC is good. It’s your choice, but I’d say be happy that an external recruiter even reached out let alone from SFDC. Also, on a more positive note, having SFDC in your resume, even if you only stay a few years, will get you more play. Plus, this is your chance to up level your compensation.
Salesforce is not fast!!!!
