I am about to join Tableau in July and found out they are being bought by Salesforce. Is there anything I need to consider and know about in this situation? I have already accepted my offer last week. Do I get to keep my shares or will things adjust before my start date. I am hoping this was just great luck of accepting the offer right before it was bought. Just want to know the situation since I have never joined a company in the process of being bought.
- Recruiter told me it shouldn't affect the role I applied for. Tableau will remain an independant company until the acquisition is fully completed. No changes to stock package. Will have more info in the afternoon. They are in meetings all day as others have said.
- As a general top level answer for most people here this should have little to no impact on you coming in. Your offers will not change other than the value of your initial stock grant going up nicely before you even start, congratulations on timing. All tableau stock will get transitioned to sales force stock and the price of the conversion is already baked in so no extra math needed to figure out the new value of your grant.
Fort anything more detailed ask your recruiter and or hiring manager.
- I am also in the same boat. Got my h1b transfer as well. What to do now
