I have offers from Microsoft, Google and Salesforce: Salesforce Location: Bellevue Level: MTS Base: $150k Performance bonus: 10% => $7.5k (midpoint) RSUs: $252k ($63k/year) Sign-on: $22k Total: $220.5k/year (excluding sign-on) Google Cloud: Location: Sunnyvale Level: L3 Base: $135k Performance bonus: 15% => $10k (midpoint) RSUs: $285k ($71.25k/year) Sign-on: $25k Total: $216k/year ($198k/year after 8% CA state tax, and excluding sign-on) Microsoft Azure: Location: Redmond Level: 61 Base: $137k Performance bonus: 20% => 13.7k (midpoint) RSUs: $140k ($35k/year) Sign-on: $20k first year, $20k second year Total: $185.7/year (excluding sign-on) Current TC: $157k YOE: 3
Why is Microsoft even an option? Google's RSU for L3 is amazing. One thing I would consider is that Salesforce has 0 refreshers for the first 4 years. In Google, you'd easily get 50k as L3 refresher per year, and not to mention more stock on getting to L4
Considering 50k stock refreshers from end of second year onwards vested over 4 years, you get 12.5k end of year 2, 25k end of year 3 and 37.5k end of year 4. So that's 75k more for 4 years making it about 20k per year more which would bring it close to Salesforce offer. Considering the better 401k match, etc. Google beats SF. Thanks for this info @woodkid!
Also, 15% is the mid point in some sense. If you get CME (consistently meets expectations), then you get 15% perf bonus. If you get exceeds/strongly exceeds, it's more. In that sense, your target perf bonus is not 10k, it's ~20k
No Brainer sales force
Lol msft 😂 pretty good offer from google especially the rsu. But the base is very low. 150 in Bellevue is 180 in bay. Joint sales force for a year. And jump ship to google next year. Offer is valid right ? You get extra signon bonus of 22k for sf plus 25 for google.
I have similar google offer, with 143k base, 225k stock, 15k bonus and they are saying no way can do higher even with competing. Are u going to try and negotiate higher?
Congratulations on so many great offers with leading companies. I hear at Salesforce you can grow quickly - nice career trajectory. Google is good company but less growth opportunity. Microsoft is a good company but if you’re young don’t do it. Culture not good for the young and ambitious. I say go with Salesforce. Get a ton of promotions and then later go to mast and google or some company at higher level
That’s a crazy offer for Salesforce MTS
Yeah, I'm an LMTS and my RSU grant is way lower -- albeit I'm in the DC area though
Google Cloud Seattle would be better
Interview preparation materials please?
Leetcode for practice. Jeff Erickson's algo notes for theory.
250k rsu for mts is a surprise.
70-100k I have heard
Yes but read the offer details
Salesforce probably has the best WLB
Not even a question; it does.
200% agree. You get time to do what you actually want to do in your life, rather than making work as your life.
