I have an admit from SJSU for masters in SE. I'm considering it as the tuition is quite reasonable and location is great to look for jobs. Does anyone here know does graduating from a lower ranked school affect my chances at employment and getting a work Visa?
Thank you😁
SJSU Is the school that Apple hired the most.
Well it does look promising from an employment perspective. Probably will take the offer
Well the Avengers "need" Hawkeye sometimes tho right ?
Don’t know much about San Jose State U. but here’s an interesting article: https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.businessinsider.com/schools-with-the-most-alumni-at-google-2015-10
That is interesting, well looks like ample opportunities do exist after graduating from SJSU
Terrible. It’s not that hard to get into Berkeley or Stanford for masters. All you need is a 3.6-3.7 GPA.
Well I'm from India and barely 5-6 people are accepted into Stanford, don't know much about Berkely. I've applied to UC Irvine too though
Am here after 2 years, so what did u decide finally...even i am planning for sjsu se for next fall..
Yo op what did you do
It's NOT a lower ranked school, not even close. Look up it's employment stats.
Apologies, I was comparing it to the other places I've applied to, namely Northeastern and UC Irvine. Should've mentioned that in the post 😅
My point doesn't change. SJSU has one of the best placements in the country. It's the best deal you can get. I didn't go there but I know a ton of people who did, and things worked out fine for them in terms of job and visa. If you got an admit there, I wouldn't think about any other univ, unless you are keen on spending more money to get the same value. Congrats on getting an admit.
