Saved around 70k out of my TC around 105 + (10 relocation) in my first year at Amazon on OPT status so no Medicare and SS. Fresh out of college. 26 years old and unmarried . Not a developer. How is that? What do with this money ? 13k already in market through Robinhood
How is that possible? Tax+social security+Medicaid+401k+espp will eat more than 30% of TC. You guys don't put any money into 401K and espp?
I am on opt so taxes was around 20%. I put 4% in 401 but I got some relocation which is apart from TC
Didn’t spend a dime on hookers? Shame....
Isn't it illegal in Washington state?
I see two things with this post: 1) Humblebrag; 2) Bullshit
How is this brag when everyone here has TC in 300k range ? I feel sad for my low TC
Too much saving, live a little more :)
Buy a one bedroom condo in Seattle! These savings as down payment. BTW, what's your position in Amazon?
You're young. Only save emergency fund (3 mo of expenses) and diversify the rest into investments
Let's see what you can do: 1. Find a girlfriend/boyfriend to spend on 2. Gamble in Vegas 3. Travel 4. Down payment for a condo/house. It will save you a lot in the long run 4. Max out 401k 5. HSA contributions - save up for that emergency day 6. Invest in yourself - learn a new skill you always wanted to as a kid 7. Car - last in the list coz it's a liability
"How is that?" - Is that a humblebrag? And yeah, like others said - live a little. Get a hobby. Support your family and the needy.
That's some crazy savings for your TC.
Yea doesn't make sense. 105 -(105-0.04*105)*.2=80+10=90k. Then he claims like 1500 a month which leaves him right at 70k. So this cat literally did Jack shit for an entire year except sleep work eat and poop. It sounds to me like he needs to buy a jet ski.
Sounds about right for Amazon, doesn't it?
Don't you have to pay taxes, live somewhere and eat something? What are you?
I mean rent and food is only 1500 bucks a month. I don’t have too much other expenses
Hmm interesting... 1500 inclusive of rent, food, travel, entertainment etc?
