Scope for a dependent with BDS/MDS degree from India in USA?

Hello all, One of my friend who is on H1B is getting married to a girl who is a dentist who has BDS/MDS degree in India. One option for her is to apply for DDS (2 years with MDS in India) and then start clinical practice. As she will be coming on dependend visa (H4) what are her options for getting a job in the USA without further studies? Anyone who was in same situation and what did you end up doing? Suggestions are welcome. Thanks

Honest answer here - she is going to take a set back in her career. Someone who has spent 8+ years already should not go through the same shit again. Ive been there and my wife is an engineer, she had to do second masters here Trust me you don’t wanna do it!

With 8+ YoE she couldn't get a job without a us degree? Not swe, some other field?

It’s not the experience, it’s the visa situation. Stop judging people without knowing the whole story

But once she completes the degree again in USA. Later she would have great earning potential.

Can she work on dependent visa ead?

Google hoooli.xyz Sep 2, 2019

Yes she can - but there has been talk of removing h4 ead. It may be a temporary reprive for your wife. Many companies these days avoid recruiting on h4 EAD, as they see it's prospect as unstable. You will also get screwed by per country cap and if your priority date is after 2012, you will die or retire before you can get your GC. Unless your wife is willing to take these bullets, her career will suffer while she can't do anything about it. Her friends in India would likely be running their own clinics or setting up a large shop, while your wife will stay home. Other options include like what you mentioned - studying - which will set her back by 3-4 years. It doesn't matter even if you are unskilled, as long as you aren't born in India or China, you will get GC in 2 years, while you suffer in the line to death. (https://www.uscis.gov/working-united-states/permanent-workers/employment-based-immigration-third-preference-eb-3) check eb3 criteria - there is unskilled there. 🤷🏽‍♂️

I don’t know the specifics but my college friend wife is in similar situation and they are struggling to get any admissions here.. I think my friend secretly wishes he didn’t married her

Even the cost is huge to study dds again. So check these details before getting married. Otherwise both lives will be affected.

BDSM degree 😮😦

Hate to say this but it'd be one long unhappy situation. First of all even getting the credentials to practice is a big pain and then it isn't a lucrative practice like general medicine either.
