Seattle 1-BR apt, best place and cost?

Mar 7

Planning to move to Seattle from New York. Looking for a 1 bed apt, either in down town or under 20 min commute.

Any suggestions?

Cap Hill is a good location. Usually 20-25 min walk to the office. 1BR ranges from $1800-$2300 depending on how New the building is.

Thanks. I'll check it out. Do people walk or bike to work? And how does parking work?

Parking at most apartments is like $150-250 a month or you have to make on the street.

People generally walk or bus. There’s a decent hill (down to work from cap, uphill home) which is manageable if you are in decent shape or have assist tech on your bike.

You can also take cap Hill light rail to Pioneer Square

Belltown is closer to downtown, though not as hip as cap hill

Ballard and Greenlake are too far. CH is too crowded and noisy. Look at Queen anne and eastlake. Fremont is good too. But at 2k, you'll get "open 1br" which is essentially a studio in most apartments. Look for condo instead.
